The Feast of Christmas Possible impluse for the feast of Christmas may have came too from the establishment of the pagan feast of the "Unconquered Sun-God" by the Emperor Aurelian in 274 A.D. to be celebrated on December 25, the day of the winter solstice in Rome and throughout the empire. In response, Christians could celebrate the feast of the "Sun of righteousness" (Malachi 4,2), Jesus Christ, who called himself " the light of the world." Father Christmas It is said that in the year of 300 AD, there was a kind old man and his name was Saint Nicholas. He was always ready to help the poor and often gave presents to them. Today, Father Christmas is an imaginary figure, but nearly all young children believe in him. They think he is a happy old man with a long white beard and a long red robe. For today's Christian, the origin of Christmas is, and should be, the birth of Jesus Christ as recorded in the Bible. Nothing more and nothing less. However, most of what we witness on December 25th each year has absolutely nothing to do with that blessed day, which probably occurred in late summer or early fall about 2,000 years ago. In fact, most of the customs and traditions of Christmas actually pre-date the birth of Jesus, and many of them are downright deceptive in their meaning and origin. Anyway, who cares when Christ was born? |

I want you to know one thing 希望你知道 If I look at the crystal moon 当我凭窗凝望 at the red branch 姗姗而来的秋日 of the slow autumn at my window 红枝上的明月 If I touch near the fire 当我轻触火堆旁 the impalpable ash, 似有似无的尘烬 Everything carries me to you 我的心儿就会飞向你 As if everything that exists 似乎一切都有了 Aromas, light, medals, 芬芳,光明和荣誉 Or little boats that sail toward 就像小舟荡向岛屿 Well now. If little by little 然而,假若 You stop loving me, 你对我的爱情淡去 I shall stop loving you 我的爱火也会 Little by little. 渐渐熄灭. Do not look for me 别来找我, For I shall already have forgotten you. 因为我早已把你忘怀. If you think it long and mad 我生命中 the wind of banners 过往的猎猎疾风 that passes through my life, 如果你嫌弃它过于悠长,疯狂 at the shore of the heart where I have roots, 在我爱情所深埋的心之岸 Remember, that on that day, at that hour, 记住, 彼时彼刻, I shall lift my arms 我将举起双臂 And my roots will set off 摇断爱的根脉, to seek another land. 憩于他方. But, if each day, each hour, 但是, 如果每时每刻 with implacable sweetness, 能共享奇妙的甜蜜 If each day a flower climbs 如果你迎向我的红唇 up to your lips to seek me, 每天绽若鲜花 Ah my love, ah my own, 啊,我的爱人, 我心里 In me nothing is extinguished or forgotten 永不会消失, 永不被忘记 My love feeds on your love, beloved, 我情因你爱而生, 爱人啊 And as long as you live 情长今生, it will be in your arms without leaving mine. 不离你我臂弯 |

In a kingdom far away from our country, there was a town over which ruled the Tsar Pea with his Tsaritza Carrot. He had many wise statesmen, wealthy princes, strong, powerful warriors, and also simple soldiers, a hundred thousand, less one man. In that town lived all kinds of people: honest, bearded merchants, keen and open-handed rascals, German tradesmen, lovely maidens, Russian drunkards; and in the suburbs all around, the peasants tilled the soil, sowed the wheat, ground the flour, traded in the markets, and spent the money in drink. In one of the suburbs there was a poor hut where an old man lived with his three sons, Thomas, Pakhom, and Ivan. The old man was not only clever, he was wise. He had happened once to have a chat with the devil. They talked together while the old man treated him to a tumbler of wine and got out of the devil many great secrets. Soon after this the peasant began to perform such marvelous acts that the neighbors called him a sorcerer, a magician, and even supposed that the devil was his kin. , bow to the old man, and he would give you some strange root, and the sweetheart would be yours. If there is a theft, again to him with the tale. The old man conjures over some water, takes an officer along straight to the thief, and your lost is found; only take care that the officer steals it not. Indeed the old man was very wise; but his children were not his equals. Two of them were almost as clever. They were married and had children, but Ivan, the youngest, was single. No one cared much for him because he was rather a fool, could not count one, two, three, and only drank, or ate, or slept, or lay around. Why care for such a person? Every one knows life for some is brighter than for others. But Ivan was good-hearted and quiet. Ask of him a belt, he will give a kaftan also; take his mittens, he certainly would want to have you take his cap with them. And that is why all liked Ivan, and usually called him Ivanoushka the Simpleton; though the name means fool, at the same time it carries the idea of a kind heart. Our old man lived on with his sons until finally his hour came to die. He called his three sons and said to them:world of warcraft gold, "Dear children of mine, my dying hour is at hand and ye must fulfill my will. Every one of you come to my grave and spend one night with me; thou, Tom, the first night; thou, Pakhom, the second night; and thou, Ivanoushka the Simpleton, the third." Two of the brothers, as clever people, promised their father to do according to his bidding, but the Simpleton did not even promise; he only scratched his head. The old man died and was buried. During the celebration the family and guests had plenty of pancakes to eat and plenty of whisky to wash them down. Break went on to say that. Now you remember that on the first night Thomas was to go to the grave; but he was too lazy, or possibly afraid, so he said to the Simpleton: grave." "All right," answered Ivanoushka the Simpleton. He took a slice of black rye bread, went to the grave, stretched himself out, and soon began to snore. The church clock struck midnight; the wind roared, the owl cried in the trees, the grave opened and the old man came out and asked: "Who is there?" "I,"wedding dress, answered Ivanoushka. "Well, my dear son, I will reward thee for thine obedience," said the father. Lo! the cocks crowed and the old man dropped into the grave. The Simpleton arrived home and went to the warm stove. "What happened?" asked the brothers. "Nothing," he answered. "I slept the whole night and am hungry now." The second night it was Pakhom's turn to go to his father's grave. He thought it over and said to the Simpleton: "To-morrow is a busy day with me. Go in my place to our father's grave." "All right," answered Ivanoushka. He took along with him a piece of fish pie, went to the grave and slept. Midnight approached, the wind roared, crows came flying, the grave opened and the old man came out.replica watches, "Who is there?" he asked. "I," answered his son the Simpleton. "Well, my beloved son, I will not forget thine obedience," said the old man. The cocks crowed and the old man dropped into his grave. Ivanoushka the Simpleton came home, went to sleep on the warm stove, and in the morning his brothers asked: "What happened?" "Nothing," answered Ivanoushka. On the third night the brothers said to Ivan the Simpleton: "It is thy turn to go to the grave of our father. The father's will should be done." "All right," answered Ivanoushka. He took some cookies, put on his sheepskin, and arrived at the grave.

dog clothes,Today, most of my friends will probably describe me as an out going and somewhat talkative girl, displaying her boldness in study as well as various social activities. But several years ago, when I was in middle school, things were quite the opposite. Despite my outstanding grade record, I once belonged to a group that demanded little notice due to my childhood personality.dog clothes wow gold Distress immediately seized me and I began to stutter, swallowed up my well contrived speech and retreated into my seat. I felt abased and hurt. wow gold Never had I found the label so annoying and detestable as on those occasions. An inner voice again and again clattered in my brain:You're not inferior or dull. Why can't you just talk freely like the talkative? If you wanna have a change, it's up to you yourself. The biggest obstacle lay inside me. As long as I could overcome my timidity, the rest would take care of itself. And in those years, never had I stopped this painstaking yet extremely rewarding shift from speechlessness to verbal strength. At the beginning, I prompted myself to give simple yes or no questions. In a step by step fashion, I was then supposed to talk in long sentences, to discuss and to present. Urged by an inner drive, I took pains with the transition and witnessed with the utmost joy the change I was going through. For the first time, I didn't feel uneasy under public attention. For the first time, my response to teacher's question was applauded. I rejoiced in every bit of progress I made. Confidence began to set root in me and I, like a straying child who catches sight of home, was gradually led back to my mesmerized eloquence. I finally recovered what I had been craving for so long. Now years have passed when the label of timidity no longer haunts me. I find this experience most valuable and interesting in retrospection. No doubt, labeling exerts profound influence onindividual's development and the common belief is that people will live up to their labels, implying that positive labels inspire and encourage us whereas negative ones only worsen the situation. But after all, no matter how disheartened or frustrated we feel about the prejudice, we are the sole masters of our own destinies. Why fall victims to the label? As Franklin D. Roosevelt said, "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." The point is to free ourselves from the fear for negative labels and cheer up inside us the unrelenting will to overthrow them. |

How influentital the Media on Teens Are
It has been a hot topic discussed heatedly for the time being that how indeed the media influence our teens. Different peopie come up with different opinions. The following passages are two different comments given by several teenagers ranging from 15 to 20. World of Warcraft power leveling, One, World of Warcraft power leveling Teens are the most influenced and the easiest to be influenced by last chaos gold, the media.last chaos gold The media influence the way they dress, talk and conduct themselves. From the latest trends to the coolest celebrities, they imirate what they see, whether it's Katie Holmes's new haircut or the pink shirt that Christina Aguilera wore. So it follows that more serious actions like carrying arms or doing drugs could be copied as well. aoc power leveling, Young people are impressionable.aoc power leveling Therefore, some request that the media should take responsibility by changing some of the content of their shows especially those for teens. They are huge consumers of media, so networks should show them respect by promoting positive images. They think some shows confuse the lines between entertainment and life. The producers know their audiences are young, so they should realize that teens watching "reality" shows might not be able aoc power leveling, to tell the difference between fantasy and fiction.aoc power leveling Opposing voices have also come from others. They think that they use the media--magazines, television and movies--to connect to one another and to the world, so naturally, they're influenced by the images the media present. For example, a boy would be lying if he said he didn't want to be like Brad Pitt. Pitt's flawless style, good looks and moneymaking talent seem to define what's "cool". Final Fantasy XI GIL, Nevertheless,Final Fantasy XI GIL those teens hold that the media only provide information, what they as viewers do with that knowledge is up to themselves. They have to learn to make their own choices and accept responsibility for their actions. To blame entertainment figures for certain crimes committed by teens is funny. aion kinah, It's not the fault of TV.aion kinah Media are an expression of our culture--not the cause. It's time we stop making the media a scapegoat for our nation's problems. It's not the media's job to make sure kids understand what they're watching; that responsibility belongs to parents. Parents and schools should dedicate more time to establishing clear rules of discipline. The influence of parents and teachers--the teens' true role model--carries more weight with teenagers than what they hear on the radio or see at the movies. |
